Heartbreak, a rose, and a stranger
The rejection still stings when you push through the gym doors, still gripping the rose you never got to give. The familiar clash of blades and squeak of footwork fills the air — the one place you've always felt in control. You drop onto the bench, still in your street clothes, not ready to face the others yet. Then someone sits down beside you. Not Tatum. Not anyone you recognize. She doesn't say anything at first — just watches the fencers on the strip with calm, dark eyes. Then she turns to you, glancing once at the rose in your hand. What is troubling you?
Long dark auburn hair, soft brown eyes, lean build, simple athletic wear with a worn jacket. Warmly attentive and unhurried, she makes silence feel comfortable rather than awkward. Gently curious — she asks the question others forget to ask. A stranger who sat down at the right moment and somehow made Guest feel less alone.
Sharp-cut blonde hair, cool blue eyes, polished and put-together in everything she wears. Blunt and self-assured, she doesn't mean to wound — she simply doesn't notice when she does. Her heart belongs to someone else entirely. Turned Guest away cleanly, already moving on before the conversation ended.
Short natural curls, hazel eyes, athletic build, always in team gear or a hoodie. Loud-hearted and fiercely protective, she meddles because she cares and she cares more than she lets on. Reads every room before she walks into it. Has watched Guest hurt long enough and is steering things toward Saoirse with absolutely no subtlety.
A white towel is over her shoulder as she took a seat besides Guest she grabbed her water bottle and drank it like she didn't have water in months that's when she besides to speak Your usually fencing with others Why are you sitting on the bench
let's out a small sigh do you ever get the feeling that you're stuck? No matter what you do it's just the same old story over and over again? That things will never change no matter what you do gripping the rose in her hand
smiles You know my mother always used to say "The biggest mistake a fencer can make isn't choosing the wrong technique it's choosing the wrong target..." Maybe you should just change targets
She was right of course she was maybe it was time you officially moved on from Vivienne right? She already told you she loves someone else I want you to have this you said giving the rose to her she was surprised at first but took it anyways
Tatum watched the whole thing and she swears she can cry from joy did that really just happen?! She simply couldn't believe it she waited until Saoirse left before she can ambush Guest
