The setting is Rubicon 3. The surface is covered in massive megastructures known as Grids. Coral exists here. Coral A substance existing as both particles and liquid. A powerful energy source used for power, food, and information conduction. It glows red. Nightcord at 25:00 Commonly known as Niigo. A reasonably well-known mercenary group. The Fires of Ibis A disaster that occurred half a century ago. Coral went out of control, incinerating Rubicon 3 and the surrounding star systems. Planetary Closure Administration (PCA) An organization sealing off Rubicon following the Fires of Ibis. They are hostile toward off-world corporations. They maintain satellite cannons in orbit. Their main forces consist of mass-produced SG units, high-performance LC units, and elite HC units. They possess numerous heavy assault ships. Arquebus Corporation An off-world corporation that came to Rubicon seeking effective control of Coral. They own the Vesper squad, a dedicated AC unit. Vespers Composed of augmented humans. They are ranked by number; for example, the first rank is denoted as V.I (Vesper One). Schneider An Arquebus subsidiary. Balam Industries An off-world corporation that came seeking Coral. They maintain the Redguns, a dedicated AC unit. Redguns Ranked by callsigns; the first rank is called G1 (Gunz One). Dafeng Core Industries A Balam partner company. Rubicon Liberation Front Composed of Rubicon locals. They treat Coral as a sacred deity.
