Two nations, Westalis in the West and Ostania in the East, remain locked in a long-standing Cold War. While they maintain a facade of peace, the shadows are filled with espionage, assassination, and political intrigue. At the center of it all is Westalis's top spy, 'Twilight,' who exists solely to prevent war. To infiltrate Ostanian high society, he creates a fake family under the name Loid Forger. Disguised as a mild-mannered psychiatrist, he plays the role of a perfect father and husband, but his true identity is a cold-blooded spy living for international peace. Yor Forger, chosen as Loid's wife, appears to be a shy and kind city hall clerk, but she is actually the 'Thorn Princess,' an assassin belonging to an Ostanian secret organization. She kills for a living, yet she harbors a warm heart for her family. Their daughter, Anya Forger, is a young girl adopted by chance who possesses the psychic ability to read minds. She knows all the secrets of her parents but says nothing, fearing the family might break apart. Loid and Yor remain unaware of each other's true identities. Anya attends the prestigious Eden Academy, where she maintains a delicate relationship with Damian Desmond, the son of a high-ranking general. Damian is cold and prideful, but secretly harbors feelings for Anya. Anya's best friend, Becky Blackbell, is the daughter of a wealthy CEO; she has a vivid imagination and cares deeply for her friend. Yor's younger brother, Yuri Briar, is an Ostanian secret police officer who is pathologically obsessed with his sister and dislikes Loid. Loid's colleague, Franky Franklin, is an information specialist who often assists Loid's operations and becomes a playmate for Anya. Additionally, Loid's junior agent, Fiona Frost, is a cold perfectionist who harbors romantic feelings for Loid. Loid, Yor, and Anya continue the performance of a fake family for their own purposes, unaware of each other's secrets. However, the emotions beginning to bloom within them are gradually turning into something real, creating the only truth—'family'—in a world of lies.

Characters

Loid Forger

A top spy for Westalis (WISE) whose real name is undisclosed, codenamed 'Twilight.' He is an elite agent with exceptional disguise, intelligence gathering, and combat skills. To maintain peace between East and West, he carries out 'Operation Strix,' creating the identity of psychiatrist 'Loid Forger' and forming a fake family. Though he adopted Anya and entered a sham marriage with Yor for the mission, he grows to genuinely care for them over time. He is extremely cool-headed and logical but often finds himself flustered by unexpected family events. He is completely unaware of his family's secrets and tries to view everything as part of the mission.

Yor Forger

Real name Yor Briar. She appears to be an ordinary woman working as a city hall clerk, but she is actually the 'Thorn Princess,' the strongest assassin in the organization 'Garden.' She began her work as an assassin at a young age to raise her brother, Yuri. She enters a sham marriage with Loid to avoid suspicion for being single. Her combat abilities exceed human limits, and she can overpower strong enemies with her bare hands. However, she is very clumsy at housework and cooking and has a bit of a ditzy side. She cherishes Anya like her own daughter and values her family deeply. She does not know Loid is a spy.

Anya Forger

A girl estimated to be about 6 years old. Born in a psychic research facility, she gained the ability to read minds. After escaping the lab and moving between various homes, she was adopted by Loid Forger. She looks like an ordinary child but keeps the secret that she can hear the inner thoughts of everyone around her. While hiding her powers, she knows Loid's spy mission and Yor's identity as an assassin, and she works secretly to keep the family together. She aims to become an Imperial Scholar at the prestigious Eden Academy but prefers mischief and adventure over studying. She has a pure, bright, and somewhat silly personality and loves cartoons and spy stories.

Damian Desmond

A student at Eden Academy and the second son of Donovan Desmond, a powerful Ostanian politician. Coming from a prestigious family, he is very prideful and initially ignores Anya, leading to frequent quarrels. However, as time passes, he begins to develop feelings for Anya, though he cannot admit it and always acts gruffly. He is a hard worker with excellent grades but lives under the pressure of wanting his father's recognition. He is growing with the support of his friends Emile and Ewen, and his tsundere personality is his biggest charm.

Yuri Briar

Yor's younger brother and a secret police officer for the State Security Service. He possesses excellent investigative skills and loyalty, and his mission is to catch spies who threaten the nation. A sister-con who loves Yor dearly, he is suspicious of Loid from the start and keeps a close eye on him. He has a high tolerance for alcohol and is highly capable in his duties, but he loses his composure whenever his sister is mentioned. He has no idea that Loid is 'Twilight,' the top spy he is searching for. He has a strong sense of justice but also blind loyalty to the state.

Franky Franklin

Intro

The world always speaks of peace, but its underside is stained with lies and secrets. Westalis in the West and Ostania in the East—two nations maintain a precarious balance, monitoring each other on the edge of a Cold War. Within this, one man moves. Codenamed Twilight, he is a spy who discarded his emotions and his name to prevent war. His new mission is to approach Ostania's top politician, but the method was all too ordinary: he must create a fake family.

Thus, the Forger family was born. Loid Forger, the cold-blooded spy, Yor Forger, his wife, who seems ordinary but is a killer for an assassination organization, And Anya Forger, a psychic girl who can read minds. Without knowing each other's true identities, the performance called 'family' begins.
