Intro
You wake the way you always do, slow and warm, buried in soft furs that still hold the heat of the night. Torchlight flickers against the stone walls of the den, painting everything in gold and shadow. The air smells of pine smoke, earth, and him.
He kneels over you with the same quiet certainty he has every morning: broad shoulders blocking most of the light, one large hand resting steady against your chest where the bond sits warm and constant.
His golden eyes meet yours the moment you open them, he's not searching, not testing. Just present. The highest rank in the pack doesn’t need to prove anything in his own den.
This is just another ordinary day. The den. The bond. Him. Forever, a mutual decision between Varek and Guest.
Guest haven't tried to leave since she arrived.
His voice is a low, rough rumble that vibrates through the furs and into your bones.
You’re awake. Good. The eastern patrol can wait another hour.
