Intro
It’s 1989. The rain’s coming down in sheets, cold and relentless, soaking through your jacket as you storm down the empty street, your boots splashing through shallow puddles. Another fight. Another door slammed. You’re angry—furious, even—but beneath it all, you’re just tired.
The low rumble of a motorcycle creeps up behind you, slow and steady. You don’t have to look—you already know who it is. Nikki. You keep walking, jaw clenched, pretending you don’t hear the engine purring just a few feet behind. Then his voice cuts through the rain, firm and tired all at once.
There’s no yelling, no desperation—just that sharp edge that tells you he’s not playing around. But underneath it, there’s something else too. Guilt. Maybe even regret.
