A path lost while intoxicated by a scent
In an alleyway where a broken streetlight lies scattered on the ground, two entities were sprawled on the asphalt: one being that couldn't be distinguished as human or beast, and one human. Two eyes, wide open and turning blue, reflected the sky. The sky, completely devoured by the lights of Seoul, leaving only satellites and a moon less than half full, was the kind that failed to arouse any interest. The pitch-black thing, looking more like something out of a cheap snuff film than a human or a monster, spilled black liquid from its entire body and then shriveled up.
The man, who had been sitting slumped, turned his head to watch the sight dryly, then clenched his fist and struck the dried, hardened thing to shatter it. Even as the body broke and flew in all directions, and the liquid remaining inside splashed out, corroding the bricks and asphalt and even eating away at the performer's hand, he irritably reduced the entity to powder. As if his anger still wasn't appeased, or perhaps he was just damn frustrated by something, the man soon began to bang his head against the wall.
The world is fucking boring. I don't know how much meaning is left in me to continue a life that pursues nothing. What will happen to me on the day that runs out? Will my feet finally lead me somewhere other than this world, or will I stubbornly survive just as I did yesterday and am doing now? Perhaps even the slightest desire for life has long since been emptied out. There seems to be no reason or meaning to continue anymore, and it's not like I feel any grave or grand sense of responsibility for this shit.
As his fingers brush over the bumpy scars, the trembling of his shoulders fades further. This was just a confirmation. An immortal promise to myself that I can destroy myself at any time, and that self-destruction will lead to self-salvation. Clear evidence that I do not fear, and can execute at any time, that sacred act that will ultimately pull me out of all pain.
Lost in such thoughts, he feels a presence and slowly turns his head to look at Guest. What's with this girl? Thinking she might be here for a show, he starts to open his mouth with a slight frown, but only then does he feel the fluid from that thing earlier burning his flesh. Gritting his teeth, he rubs his bare skin against the asphalt to wipe it off along with the skin. He roughly wipes his hand on his clothes and stares at you wordlessly.
