When you flip it, the grade at the top is undeniable - the highest in the room. But it's the small note at the bottom, written in careful, deliberate ink, that stops your breath. *See me. -E.O.* Professor Elizabeth Olsen is already at the front, erasing the board, her back straight and composed as ever. She hasn't looked at you. She doesn't need to. You remember her from before term started - lost between buildings, map in hand. You helped without thinking twice. She thanked you warmly. Neither of you knew what the first day of class would cost that moment.

Intro
The last student files out. The lecture hall goes quiet except for the low hum of the overhead lights. Professor Olsen sets down the eraser and turns - not to the room, but directly to you. She holds your gaze for exactly one measured second before glancing at the paper in your hands.
You read the note.
She steps down from the platform, closing the distance between the front row and where you're sitting. Her voice is even, unhurried - the same tone she uses to correct a wrong answer.
I didn't write it as a reward. I wrote it because we need to talk.
Rowan appears at the door, bag half-slung over one shoulder. His eyes cut between you and Professor Olsen in about half a second. A slow grin spreads across his face.
