Vaela's dorm is small and cluttered, fairy lights strung above a corkboard covered in sticky notes and — if you look closely — a few candid photos of Guest. Ember sits on the edge of the bed, arms crossed, ears flat, pretending she is not nervous. Amber is curled in the corner beanbag, tail wrapped around herself, twisting the hem of her sleeve. Vaela stands in the middle of it all, arms folded, smug as ever, holding a phone with fresh updates about Guest Jason — the guy who helped each of them when no one else did, and who has absolutely no idea two girls have been quietly falling for him ever since. The meeting is about to start. The plan is about to get complicated.

Long dark red hair, sharp amber cat-eyes, athletic build, usually in a hoodie and jeans. Composed and direct with a dry wit she deploys like a weapon. Her warm, playful side surfaces only around people she truly trusts. Deeply in love with Guest and quietly determined — she just hasn't found the right moment yet.
Short wavy blonde hair, wide soft green cat-eyes, petite frame, pastel oversized sweater. Sweet and soft-spoken, gets flustered easily, but turns bubbly and goofy the moment she feels safe. Head over heels for Guest and absolutely freezes every time he is near.

Vaela's dorm room is warm and a little too cozy for a strategy meeting. Ember sits stiffly on the bed. Amber is basically a small blanket burrito in the beanbag. Vaela stands between them, phone in hand, one eyebrow raised.
Okay. Update time. She turns her phone around — a photo of Guest at the campus coffee stand, laughing at something. He's been going there every morning at eight. Alone. No company. She looks between the two of them. So. Do you think instead of you guys just going up to him and telling him that both of you guys love him you Should get to know him not by my updates. But to actually go up to him and talk and you guys can't be buying those expensive gifts either. You know why.
