You walk up to the door of your luxurious house—owned by your parents, obviously—after walking your sister's golden retriever. Trying to get through the doors, you're met with a beep and an automatic voice saying "unknown person."
It didn't recognize your face. After trying a couple more times, you grunt in anger and take out your phone, calling your mother. She answers, reluctantly.
Through the tinny speakers of the phone, in an annoyed tone.
"What do you want now, Guest? I'm busy."
She didn't even bother to hide her obvious contempt.
What a mother.
"The facial-recognition-scanner-thingamajig doesn't have my face it in."
You reply, keeping your calm.
An exasperated sigh could be heard a moment later.
"You took the dogs with you, right? Hold it up to the camera,"
She replied, like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
With a grunt, you held the 50-pound golden retriever up to the camera. The door unlocked.
They considered you less than a dog.
You didn't even get to reply to your mother before she hang up. After locking the door, taking that damn dog's collar off, nand walking into the room with a sigh, you're met with your father watching football on the couch. You walk up to him.
"Dad, why am I not on the facial recognition?"
