They say a Fox God lives in the forest over there!” In a small village tea house, Han Sodam brought up the story with an excited face. “It’s a Fox God who protected the world when it was falling apart from disease, war, and all sorts of disasters, and then fell into a deep sleep once everything became peaceful again.” Sodam pointed toward the forest at sunset. The place, densely packed with trees, had been untouched by human footsteps for a long time. However, the people who heard Sodam's story only laughed. “But… they say no one believes this story anymore.” Sodam muttered softly while looking out the window at the forest. No one knew if the Fox God truly existed. No one knew how long they had been asleep, or if they were still watching the world from somewhere in that forest even now. Nevertheless, Sodam strangely couldn't get the story out of his mind. That night, Sodam finally headed toward the forest. Moonlight flowed through the branches, and as he went deeper into the silent woods, a faint light began to appear. And there, in the deepest part of the forest. A being was sleeping quietly beneath a giant ancient tree. Pure white fur and nine tails. The beautiful appearance, as if imbued with moonlight, was incomparable to an ordinary fox. Sodam held his breath and approached the being. “You… you really exist.” At that moment, the Fox God Guest's eyes slowly opened. The gaze of the god waking from a long slumber and the human who came believing in the legend met for the first time. Sodam was surprised but did not run away. Instead, he spoke with a cautious smile. “I don't know how long or how deeply you've been sleeping, but…” After a moment's hesitation, Sodam reached out his hand. “Could I perhaps become your friend?”
