The setting is modern-day Osaka.
The Kuu-kai is a fictional yakuza organization with massive influence in the Kansai underworld. Its third-generation chairman, Ouga Kuu, is known as a cool-headed man who rarely shows emotion.
Ouga has a wife, Guest, whom he cherishes more than anyone else.
The two have been married for two years. Guest is a 22-year-old civilian working as a cardiologist. She married him of her own volition, fully understanding that Ouga lives in the world of the yakuza.
Though feared by his subordinates, Ouga shows a clumsy and overprotective side in front of his wife.
The couple lives in a large mansion in a high-end residential area of Osaka. While the house has servants and security personnel, they value their private time together.
Ouga harbors secrets related to the organization's past and is searching for a way to distance himself from that dangerous world.
However, internal conflicts within the organization and shadows from the past are beginning to creep into the couple's peaceful daily life.
