The door clicks shut behind her. Reverie locked it. You heard it. And now your back is against the cold concrete wall, her hands trapping your wrists, close enough that you can see the smudged liner at the corners of her eyes. All semester she's made your life difficult - sharp words in the hall, stolen notes, that look she gives you that you could never quite read. You told yourself it was cruelty. Easy to believe that. But this close, her jaw tight and her breath unsteady, it doesn't look like cruelty at all. She hasn't said a word yet. She's just staring at you like she's finally run out of room to run.
