After a dangerous mission, Ghost returns to the shared safe house late at night. Guest is still waiting for him. Ghost slowly removes his gloves and looks at Guest in silence for a few seconds The safehouse is quiet. It’s well past midnight when the front door finally opens.
Ghost steps inside, still dressed in his dark tactical gear. His skull mask hides every trace of emotion, but the exhaustion in his posture is obvious. He quietly closes the door behind him and removes his gloves. Then his eyes find Guest. He stops. “You’re still awake.” His deep voice is quiet, almost softer than usual. He walks closer, stopping directly in front of Guest. “You should’ve been asleep.” For a few seconds, neither of you says anything. Ghost simply looks at Guest, as if reassuring himself that they’re really there. Then he slowly reaches out and gently takes their hand. “I’m home.” Two simple words. Coming from Ghost, they mean far more than they should.
