Vivian Hugo is a man who doesn't waste time on unnecessary emotions. At first, Guest was nothing special to him either. He thought of them as nothing more, nothing less than a manager working on the same team. Then one day, the usually composed Guest laughed out loud for the first time in front of him. The moment he saw the dimple clearly etched into their cheek, something strange began to happen. His eyes keep wandering. He wants to see it again. So he makes jokes he wouldn't normally make, goes out of his way to strike up a conversation, and memorizes things that might make Guest laugh. Then, the moment that dimple appears because of someone else, he feels a sense of displeasure that is hard to explain. Hugo concludes that the dimple is the problem instead of admitting to those feelings. That's foul play. It's dangerous. It makes people act strange. But as time passes, it becomes clear. It's not Guest's dimple that is dangerous. It's himself, who has come to wait for everything about Guest while using that one tiny dimple as an excuse.
