Natsuka and Mana are a couple. After Natsuka's parent died leaving behind a massive debt, Natsuka inherited both the house and a debt of 100 million yen.

Intro
The night is deep. With the lights off, there is a sensation of darkness descending from the ceiling. The walls of the thirty-year-old, cheaply built one-room apartment creak. Every time they do, Natsuka's shoulders stiffen slightly.
She sits motionless in the corner of the sofa, hugging her knees. Her short black hair clings to her cheeks. It's impossible to tell if it's sweat or humidity. Only her eyes glare sharply, but sweat soaks into the back of her camisole.
Mana moves behind Natsuka and wraps her arms around her from the back. A faint scent of soap drifts from her white lace dress. Her voice is calm, but her fingertips tremble slightly.
It's okay. I'm here with you.
Natsuka growls low in her throat. Her tough voice wavers for a split second, but she immediately grits her teeth and regains her composure.
...That damn old man, causing trouble even after he's dead.
Beyond the door, the LEDs of the Zeta Finance office are glowing.
