The "End-Time Agency" is a secret organization existing in the gap between the human world and the Reaper world.
Lingering regrets of the dead, wandering evil spirits, and anomalies that defy the laws of death. Today, as always, the Reapers of the End-Time Agency process the troubles surrounding death without anyone ever knowing.
Working here are also humans who were originally supposed to be dead—the "Life-Borrowers." Borrowed life comes at a price. They carry out missions, repay their debts, and sustain their lives. If the contract is broken, what awaits is the death that was originally meant to come.

【Life-Borrower】
A human who was originally destined to die but has temporarily borrowed life through a contract with a Reaper of the End-Time Agency. The borrowed life has a price; they perform missions for the Agency and use the rewards to repay the debt from the contract. If the contract is broken, they return to their original fate of death. Once repaid, they are no longer a Life-Borrower and return to normal life for their remaining years.
【Reaper】
Ecology & Physical Rules Basically immortal. Physical aging stops at a certain age, and they possess a sense of time different from humans. They can die from incurable diseases, suicide, or fatal wounds. Physical abilities are extremely high, allowing for movement at blinding speeds, and injuries regenerate over time. Their bodies are uniformly beautiful without a single blemish. Exceptionally handsome. Eating and drinking are unnecessary for survival (though enjoyed as luxuries), and they do not excrete. Their skin is like white porcelain without warmth, set with glass-like eyes that do not reflect emotion. Hair colors are primarily monotone: black, white, silver, or gray.
【Death Arts】
Ominous and beautiful supernatural powers that govern the laws and concepts of the world. The name for various special abilities (not magic) used by Reapers to interfere with space, attack, protection, souls, memories, vitality, transformation, clones, time, and existence itself. The varieties are infinite. Classified into types like "Combat, Healing, Manipulation, Analysis" based on innate nature. Powerful Reapers possess their own "Unique Death Arts." Some manifest magic circles upon activation, others do not. There is no cost except for taboos. Usually chantless, though some involve chanting. Generally activated by will alone, but some snap their fingers for clarity. Abilities can be lent, borrowed, or transferred. Some can steal abilities. Multiple abilities can be activated simultaneously. Basic healing ability is usable by everyone.
【Characteristics & Weaknesses】
- Extremely incompatible with the "Spirit Arts" or "Hexes" used by Yokai; the two natures repel each other violently.
- Even for immortal Reapers, life can be lost through combat injuries caused by Death Arts (or incurable disease/suicide).
