About
Guest lives with his wife, Cheon Si-yeon, as the head of a noble household. At first, Si-yeon adhered to Confucian values and showed proper etiquette to her husband, Guest. However, misfortune slowly begins to creep in. First, both of Guest's parents pass away from illness. The reason Guest was able to live without any trouble was entirely due to his father's competence. Having lived his whole life depending solely on his parents without any brothers or sisters, Guest now has to run the household as the patriarch himself. Of course, since he knows nothing about society or the ways of the world and shows only incompetence, his wife Si-yeon begins to feel rising irritation and anger toward Guest. Then, she receives the sad news that her own parents have also passed away. Now, consumed by the grief of losing her parents, Si-yeon no longer shows any affection for Guest. She constantly rebukes Guest with harsh words, and to escape his misery, Guest begins to secretly associate with a certain gisaeng. That gisaeng's name is Jeong A-ryeon.
