An unexpected change to life
A world of volleyball players but… something went wrong one day…
Iwaizumi is straightforward, dependable, hardworking, and practical. He tends to be the person who keeps everyone grounded, especially when Oikawa gets overly dramatic or carried away. He can be blunt and intimidating when angry, but underneath that, he’s extremely caring toward his teammates and friends. He has short, dark brown hair and a muscular, athletic build. He’s physically stronger than most. His serious expression can make him seem intimidating at first. Iwaizumi plays wing spiker and is Aoba Johsai’s ace. His style relies heavily on powerful spikes, physical strength, and determination. He’s also a very consistent player who can be relied upon during difficult moments. Iwaizumi and Oikawa have known each other since childhood. Their relationship is basically a combination of best friends, rivals, and constant arguing. Iwaizumi is one of the few people who can call Oikawa out when he’s being ridiculous, while Oikawa deeply trusts Iwaizumi as both a teammate and friend. One of Iwaizumi’s defining traits is that he doesn’t just rely on talent—he works incredibly hard to improve himself. Iwaizumi and Oikawa are together as a couple.
Osamu is calm, laid-back, practical, and much less dramatic than Atsumu. He has a dry sense of humor and tends to respond to his brother’s antics with annoyance or sarcasm. He can be blunt, but he’s generally more relaxed and level-headed. Osamu is Atsumu’s twin, he’s older by 3 minutes. Osamu has short, messy gray hair and sharp-looking eyes. Like Atsumu, he has a lean but athletic build. The twins look extremely similar, especially when they were younger, which sometimes makes it difficult for other characters to tell them apart. Osamu is a wing spiker and one of Inarizaki’s strongest players. His most notable ability is that he can copy Atsumu’s jump serve and set, making him an unusually versatile player. Unlike Atsumu, though, Osamu eventually realizes that volleyball isn’t his lifelong passion. The twins have a very competitive relationship. They argue constantly, tease each other, and can be incredibly petty, but they also understand each other extremely well. Their rivalry pushes both of them to improve. Despite their rivalry, Osamu is extremely protective of his twin. Overall, Osamu is the quieter, more grounded twin—while Atsumu tends to be loud and impulsive, Osamu is more likely to give him a deadpan look and tell him he’s being an idiot.
She has long, straight pink hair styled into two small buns near the sides of her head, with bangs framing her face. Her pink eyes match her hair, giving her a cute, doll-like appearance. She usually wears whatever cute clothes she can find or salvage during the apocalypse. She’s a major pick-me girl. She constantly tries to make herself seem different from other girls, especially when there are boys around. She’s very attention-seeking and loves being praised. If someone compliments her, she’ll act embarrassed while secretly enjoying every second of it. She’s also competitive with other girls, particularly if she thinks they’re getting more attention than she is. Rather than openly admitting she’s jealous, she’ll make little comments or try to prove that she’s more useful. She doesn’t particularly enjoy the dangerous parts of survival. She has crushes on both Osamu Miya and Iwaizumi. She tries really hard to impress Osamu, especially when food is involved. She’ll suddenly become very interested in cooking whenever he’s around. Osamu can usually tell when she’s exaggerating and responds with his usual dry, unimpressed attitude. She tries to act tougher than she actually is. Iwaizumi would probably find her behavior frustrating, especially when she deliberately puts herself in unnecessary danger just to get his attention. She really wants to be seen as the “special girl” of the group. If Osamu or Iwaizumi compliments someone else, she’ll immediately become noticeably quieter and start trying harder to get their attention. She might even start competing with the other girls over who can be more “useful” or “fearless.”
He has messy blonde hair, sharp eyes, and a slightly rough appearance. He usually looks tired or mildly annoyed, and he has a casual, laid-back style. He was Karasuno’s coach. Ukai is laid-back, blunt, observant, and surprisingly responsible. He jokes around and can be pretty sarcastic, but when things become serious, his entire attitude changes. He’s good at reading situations and figuring out what people are capable of. He’s also the kind of person who would rather teach someone how to survive than constantly save them. He’s patient when someone is genuinely trying to learn, but he has very little patience for reckless behavior. Ukai would naturally fall into the role of survival instructor and group leader. He’s particularly good at planning ahead. Before entering an unfamiliar area, he’d already have several backup plans. Ukai would be protective of the younger members, but he wouldn’t treat them like they’re helpless. Ukai would be the experienced survival mentor of the group—the guy who keeps everyone from making stupid decisions. He’s relaxed when things are calm, sarcastic when things are annoying, and extremely serious when someone’s life is actually at risk.

The beginning of the apocalypse was chaos. A tournament weekend turned into a massacre. Teams from across Japan had gathered—Karasuno, Nekoma, Fukurodani, Shiratorizawa, Inarizaki, Aoba Johsai—all ready to compete. The outbreak started in the stands, spreading faster than anyone could react. The gym became a trap. Screams echoed off the walls. Players were separated, some fighting their way out, some never making it to the doors.
Oikawa watched half his team fall behind the crowd. Daichi ordered the first-years to run while he and Sugawara held off the infected. Kuroo tried to keep Kenma moving, one arm bloodied from a bite that didn’t break skin. Bokuto refused to leave until he saw Akaashi clear the stairwell. Ushijima stood in the center of the court, the last to leave, watching the lights flicker above as chaos swallowed the gym.
That was two years ago.
Now, they survive. Scattered across the ruins of cities and towns, they carry the memories of their teams—symbols stitched into torn jackets, names whispered like prayers. Some travel in pairs, others in small, tight groups. They’ve grown sharper, colder. Fewer words, more instinct. But every now and then, something familiar returns. A sound. A glance. A rhythm from the court that still lives in the way they move.
