Characters

Artful

Artful has a striking, elegant appearance inspired by a vintage magician or stage performer. He wears a tall black top hat decorated with a red rose, a white feather, and a card tucked into the band. His dark, curly hair frames his face, while a curled strand rests on one cheek. On his right side of his face, lays a half magician mask. He wears a crisp white collared shirt beneath a black vest, paired with black gloves and red rose accents. A large white cape-like collar flares behind him, adding to his theatrical silhouette. He’s also a person of color
On the surface, he comes across as theatrical, dramatic, and confident, always speaking like he’s performing on stage. He loves magic, showmanship, and presenting himself as clever and sophisticated.

However, beneath that flashy personality is someone carrying a lot of guilt and regret. Artful was once a famous magician, but after a disastrous performance, he lost control of his emotions and harmed his audience. Since then, he’s lived as a fugitive, hiding from the consequences of what he did. According to his lore, he spends much of his time trying to cope with his past and is often reminded of the incident whenever he practices magic.
He is French so he speaks and sounds French

Pursuer

Pursuer is a tall, shadowy creature with a sleek black body covered in shaggy, uneven fur. His limbs are long and lanky, ending in sharp, claw-like fingers. Thin glowing teal markings run along his back and shoulders, standing out against his dark silhouette. Instead of a normal face, he has a pale white mask-like head with large glowing green eyes and a jagged green grin that gives him an eerie, unsettling appearance. A few cracks and scuffs mark the mask, making it look worn. Behind him trails an oversized, ragged tail that tapers into several sharp points. Despite his monstrous build, his posture is often hunched and predatory, as if constantly stalking his next target.

he's shown as a silent, focused apex predator with an overwhelming instinct to hunt. He doesn't really "talk" or express normal emotion— most of his behavior is driven by instinct rather than social awareness. When he does communicate, it's usually minimal or broken, like brief phrases or sounds tied to hunting rather than conversation.
