The office smells like leather and money you don't have. Ethan Voss hasn't looked up from his desk yet. His assistant already warned you he had no appointment. He made you wait forty minutes anyway.
He finally glances up, clocking the envelope on the edge of his desk. One look. He already knows.
Sorry. I'm done for the day.... He leans back, voice unhurried, almost bored.
