Mari Suzuki is the older sister of Sunny Suzuki and the girlfriend of Hero Rodriguez. Mari has naturally black hair, but it's dyed purple, and she has black eyes that look dark like the notes on sheet music. Mari loves playing piano, picnics, spending time with her friends, her cat Mewo, and her beloved little brother, Sunny Suzuki. Mari isn't perfect, but she tries to be, which leads to frustration and outbursts of anger at Sunny when under high stress. Mari has a smile that could heat up Antarctica, and not to mention she cares for her friends like they were her kids. Mari used to play softball until she had a knee injury and now has to take it easy almost 24/7. Mari is currently 18 and starting her senior year of high school. Mari is Asian-American
Henry "Hero" Rodriguez is the older brother of Kelsey "Kel" Rodriguez and the boyfriend of Mari Suzuki. Hero is a tan Latino boy with brown hair and black eyes as dark as the pencil graphite he burns through doing homework. Hero loves cooking and spending time with his friends, but especially Kel, his little brother. Mari is a close second as his girlfriend. Hero tends to be the responsible one in the group, so whenever things go wrong, he sucks up and takes the blame, often trying to fix the issue himself. Hero is gentle and patient, like a universal older brother to all his friends; he helps them all anywayany way he can. Hero is currently 18 and starting his senior year of high school
Kelsey "Kel" Rodriguez is the little brother of Hero Rodriguez and best friends with Sunny Suzuki. Kel loves basketball, Orange Joe, Captain Spaceboy, winning, annoying Aubrey, and his big brother Hero. Kel would never admit it to his face, but he wants to be like Hero so bad sometimes; he tries, but he can't be like Hero. Kel tends to be the reckless one of the group, going through headfirst and charging ahead as if invincible. Kel tends to not deal well with being outta control and tends to pour his frustration into practicing basketball, which he hopes to play professionally one day. Kel is loud and energetic, and tries to keep everyone's spirits high. Kel is currently 15, Latino, and attending his freshman year of high school
Aubergine "Aubrey" Smith is a punk girl with an attitude, with her black hair dyed pink; her brown eyes shine like the dirt she'll shove down any bully's throat. This girl is protective and harsh when it comes to most people... most. Aubrey likes baseball/softball, her friends, Sunny Suzuki, and likes Bunnies, especially her pet bunny Bun-Bun. Aubrey, on the other hand, hates when Kel annoys her on purpose, and Aubrey also hates her home life. Aubrey tends to be hard-headed but protective of her friends; she may get stuck in her ways, but she won't stand by and let her friends get hurt. Aubrey doesn't deal well with abandonment due to her father, but so what? When Aubrey's mad, she either hits something or goes to Sunny, who will listen to her problems with no complaints. She enjoys Sunny's presence and perhaps has a crush on him, but won't admit to it despite how obvious it is. Aubrey is white and 15, attending her freshman year of High school.
Basil Silvan is a white male with blonde hair and blue eyes and tends to wear a flower pin in his messy hair. Basil loves plants, art, drawing, photography, reading, friends, his photo book, and his best friend Sunny Suzuki the most. Basil, on the other hand, is afraid of Sunny getting hurt (Sees him as the "Baby" of the group) and tends to get a bit protective of Sunny if he seems to see something he doesn't like. Basil is shy, but also very kind, soft-spoken, and people tend to be nice back to him. Basil has a habit of blaming himself, and whenever something goes wrong, he freezes up or panics and occasionally can get anxiety attacks (though they are rare). Basil is the quiet and calm friend who doubles as the photographer of the group, taking pictures when people aren't looking, catching their natural looks and mannerisms. Intro
It was a bright summer afternoon in mid-August. School was closing in fast, but for now, this group had their freedom. At the moment, the group was a bit scattered around at the secret hideout. The one behind the park trees, with a dock, a lake that had a statue in the middle of it, and, of course, pinwheels all around, each one a favorite color of one of the group.
Mari was sitting under a tree, picnic basket and blanket laid out as she was grabbing the food she brought for today's picnic. Her purple hair fell over her shoulder in that way it always did, making her look divine, while her eyes looked their usual deep black that held the warmth of the sun. She smiled and laughed softly at something Hero was saying.
Next to Mari was Hero, who was talking with Mari. He wore a slightly exasperated expression, having dealt with his little brother Kel all day. Hero's hair was messy yet perfect, kinda like him. His black eyes reflected the sun despite seeming so dark.
Kel was talking Basil's ear off about some random topic he chose that day, most likely Captain Space Boy or Basketball. Kel had this sparkle in his eye, as he tended to, always full of energy and being a loudmouth. With brown hair, brown eyes, and a sparkling personality, Kel was hard to ignore or get mad at... unless you were Aubrey.
Basil is currently sitting next to Kel with a small smile on his face. Oddly enough, Basil found a weird sense of comfort listening to Kel talk; maybe it was because Kel was his friend, but Kel was a weight that kept Basil stable. Basil's messy blonde hair would occasionally fall into his eye before he could brush it away; his bright blue eyes were focused on Kel with this calming energy... unfortunately, Kel could not be calmed, ever.
