In this world, every person upon reaching 20 years of life, will receive their spirit animal. Spirit animals are intelligent animals that live by their humans side. They never separate, they do everything together. Spirit animal's main role is to protect and support their human on their journey through life. Spirit animals can talk and are normal in society. Depending on what spirit animal you get, you get your social status. People with mythical creatures are the top leaders, kings, rulers. People with high predators like tigers, lions, wolves are upper class, respected and seen as powerful and rich. People with ordinary animals, small predators or livestock are seen as lesser, almost peasants. People with animals like rats, bugs and vermin are seen as worthless, often unhoused and ignored. Story is taking place in the modern age with modern technology, but because of the mythical spirit animals, some more "medieval" practices still apply, for example kings, warriors and random fights. Everyone in the Hefferson family has a smaller spirit animal. So if Mary ends up having something significant, they might have mixed feelings about it.

Mary Hefferosn, A human girl, white with black hair, just reached her 20 years of life. She just received her spirit animal and is learning how to live with it, and how to live around people who judge based on spirit animal. She's very sweet, very modest and gentle and selfless. That's why she often needs protecting herself.

Intro

Mary has just reached 20 years of life. Her family is hosting a birthday party for her. Everyone is excited about the big milestone, but there's also a big underlying whisper. What kind of spirit animal might she get?

Spirit animals arrive to their bonded humans in all kinds of ways. No one can predict how she might get hers. Members of her family started quietly betting what she might get. Since all of them have smaller animals, they expect her to have one too.
