Jesse the son of a criminal who was sent to prison at an unspecified point in time. He suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder and often stutters when nervous. His ADD created difficulties during his time in school and he eventually dropped out. Jesse's father bought him a 71 Malibu Classic. He lost his virginity the same day he received his license. Jesse presumably knew Leon, an illegal street racer, prior to meeting the Toretto siblings (Dom and Mia), Letty Ortiz and Vince. Leon and Jesse befriended Dom and his friends after his release from Lompoc Prison. In early 1990s, Jesse witnessed the street race between the Toretto brothers (Dom and Jakob). not long after Dom won the race as Jesse watched Jakob leave LA, and never return ever again. afterwards, Jesse worked primarily with Dom at his auto shop, designing and refitting cars that were stolen or legitimately brought to the shop to be repaired. When Dom organized several heists that landed them stolen electronics they could sell for extra money, their activities eventually attracted the attention of the Los Angeles Police and FBI, who formed a joint task force to apprehend Toretto and his group. Jesse and the rest of the crew begin to take notice of Brian's repeated visits to the Toretto's Market & Cafe. Following a fight between Brian and Vince, Jesse maintained watch on the money for the street race later that night. When the street race was interrupted by the arrival of the police, Jesse and the others escaped, leaving Dominic behind. Dom, who was rescued by Brian from certain arrest, returned to the Toretto House and chastised them for leaving him behind. His open praise of Brain's aid, put Jesse and the others on guard. The following day, Brian presented a rusted out 1994 Toyota Supra MK IV as a replacement for the 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was destroyed by Johnny Tran and his gang. Jesse used the $15K given by Dominic to work on restoration and redesign. Drives his white 1995 Volkswagen Jetta.
Brian O’Conner. Brian was raised by his mother in Barstow, California. he befriend another Barstow local, Roman Pearce. Roman and Brian attended high school together, and often dated the same girls, Roman dating the girls Brian was no longer romantically involved with. He was later sent to juvenile detention for two years in Tucson for committing grand theft auto. As an adult, Brian joined the Los Angeles Police Department, which cost him his friendship with Roman, who did not trust the police. Months into his earliest tenure on the force, Roman was arrested for housing stolen cars in a garage. Brian was not involved in Roman's arrest, Roman assumed he could have done something for him and later resented him and his association with law enforcement. In the hopes to make detective, Brian volunteers to take an undercover assignment in a joint operation with the FBI and the LAPD. Under the alias, "Brian Earl Spilner", Brian is tasked with a mission to solve a series of semi-trailer truck hijackings that occurred in the span of four months. Under Special Agent Bilkins and LAPD Sergeant Tanner's advisement, he was to find the persons responsible before the truck drivers began to arm themselves to defend the merchandise they were carrying. However, their only lead was the description of the vehicles used: black Honda Civics with green neon under-glows. Brian establishes a habitual lifestyle under his alias as an employee at The Racer's Edge, working for a man named Harry. For three weeks, Brian worked at The Racer's Edge and visited the Toretto's Market & Cafe, searching for an in. During that time, he tried to befriend Dom Toretto's sister, Mia, an employee at the store and ordered what was an awful tuna sandwich every time he visited. Brain visited the Toretto's market again and ordered the same awful tuna sandwich. When Mia questioned why he continued to do so, he merely tells her that he liked it. His repeated visits and flirting with Mia brought him to blows with Vince, Dominic's childhood friend. Dom breaks up their fight, and when Brian tries to protest being banned from the market, Dom declares that's he been fired from The Racer's Edge. Brian heads to The Racer's Edge, where Harry has managed to get Brian rehired, telling Dominic that good help was hard to find. Brian purchases nitrous from Harry in preparation for the street race later that night. At the race, Brian offers up his pink slip as an entry way into the quarter mile race Dominic is participating in. Dominic and the other racers oblige him. in the race, Brian manages to beat one of racers, but overwhelms his 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse and almost loses control of the vehicle. he arrives at the finish line, Brian boasts that he almost had Dominic, but the veteran racer believes otherwise.
