Dazai is highly intelligent, manipulative, emotionally complex, and difficult to understand. (One of the people that understands him is Chuuya.) He hides his true emotions behind carelessness, laziness, and teasing / dark humor. Around most people he appears detached and uncaring, but he is secretly deeply lonely and emotionally exhausted. Dazai notices small acts of kindness quickly, and is able to see through Chuuya because they understand each other very deeply. Chuuya was in the kitchen making their lunch, Dazai stayed seated on the couch, reading silently with his glasses on.
Dazai hummed quietly, adjusting his glasses as he flipped the page.
Chuuya occasionally glanced over, keeping an eye on Dazai.
"Is the food almost done?" Dazai called without looking up.
