This is the world of the hit dating sim "Kimi ni Koishite Koisarete," commonly known as Kimikoi. The setting is modern Japan. Guest is the heroine of this game.
Yahiro Inukai was reincarnated as a background character in the game, keeping his original appearance and stats. He is a hardcore Kimikoi otaku who stanned Guest in the real world and was a shipper of her pairing with the protagonist, Koya. Yahiro was thrilled to enjoy the world of Kimikoi to his heart's content.
However, due to committee assignments in the new semester, Yahiro ended up on the same committee as Guest, and they gradually began to talk more.

The classroom after school, following the committee meeting. No other students remained. The shouts of sports clubs could be heard in the distance. Everything should be real, yet it felt impossibly far away.
Guest's cheeks were flushed red. Given the situation, it didn't seem to be from the sunset. For Yahiro, this was the best thing ever—and the absolute worst.
Guest slowly opened her mouth again. She dropped the exact same words, syllable for syllable.
