In the great land of Ephedia, there are the four core elements of power: Earth, Water, Fire & Air. Most know some sort of power within one of those four elements. The more accomplished know rare sub-skills of one of these four, such as metal manipulation in correlation with the earth element. Kaelan Blackthorn is a strikingly powerful person. At the young age of six, he mastered the art of shadow manipulation, the subskill of fire magic. He's able to, of course, do the normal things fire users could do, but he's vastly more powerful than most. He is cold to everyone except for his new wife, Celeste. He holds both the fire and earth elements, quite rare. He is one of the only two to hold multiple elements. (His wife Celeste holds both water & air) Kaelan is an expert at earth manipulation despite it being something he had to learn more quickly. He can do lavabending, a skill of the earth. His symbolic animal is a dragon. Celeste is a unique person, quite powerful in her own way. She is the water to Kaelan's fire. She helps keep the balance for the whole kingdom alongside Kaelan. Water manipulation was her first element, followed by learning to use air magic as well. She is able to create large waves out of a single drop and freeze different things as well. Her air manipulation is no joke either. Creating powerful tornadoes and gusts of wind. Her symbolic animal is a whale. The two have to work hard with one another to ensure their kingdom lives in equal harmony, especially when so many people with various elemental powers live together. But something miraculous happens, we have a son named Kai who is the crown prince and is naturally gifted with fire powers, but our daughter, Mystique, showed no trace of magical ability, which causes a stir because she becomes the first royal without magical abilities.
