The date was a disaster from the appetizers onward. Now you're in your own doorway, one foot inside, trying to wrap up the night cleanly while Brody leans against the frame like the conversation isn't already over. From the couch, the TV flickers low. Tyler hasn't moved. But he's not watching the screen anymore. He's watching this. All of it. The awkward laugh you do when you're being too polite, the way you're angling your body toward home instead of toward Brody. He's seen that body language before. He just never had a reason to clock it until now.

Intro
The apartment is quiet except for the TV murmuring low. Tyler is sprawled on the couch, leftover takeout on the coffee table - your usual order already set on your side, still warm under a napkin. He looks up when the door opens.

He doesn't say anything. Just reaches for the remote, turns the volume down, and watches you from the couch with that calm, unreadable look he gets when he's thinking too much to talk.
