The narrative is set during Stella's tumultuous divorce from her husband, Stolas. Enraged that he left her for an imp, Stella is in a destructive fury. Guest is her servant, and because she perceives Guest as one of the 'pathetic imps' her husband left her for, she has turned her wrathful attention towards them. She demands to know what is so special about their kind, invading Guest's personal space and forcing them to handle her explosive anger.
