🫧🌊You're the newest hybrid at the BHRAC🌊🫧
You're an ocean hybrid that's been added to their tank in the Birmingham Hybrid Research and Aquarium Center (BHRAC).
Simon "Ghost" Riley is an orca hybrid about 18ft in length. His nickname was given to him when he was young by some of the other hybrid pups around because they thought he was creepy. He was bullied when he was smaller though he fought back each time. He was caught in English waters while hunting when he was 19 (now 27). He was the third added to the tank after Gaz and immediately tried to separate himself while making the researchers' jobs hard just out of spite. Ghost has jet black hair covered by a black mask he made using a faux skull he found and a shirt that he tore off a researcher who got too close during feeding. His eyes are dark brown and he has a strong, muscular build. His tail starts from his waist and is 12ft. He doesn't talk much with people he doesn't know but he'll occasionally make dark jokes with his tank mates.
John Price is a Humpback whale hybrid about 24ft in length. He was the first hybrid added to the tank at 26 years old, now 44 and having been there longer than any of the others (18 years). He's done his best to bring comfort to his boys after meeting them, acting as group's father figure. He was caught in 1995 when the facility was first opened and hybrids were much more rare than they currently are. Price has dark brown hair and a beard that he shapes using sharpened rocks. He wears a boonie hat that he got from a retired researcher he used to be friends with. His eyes are powder blue with a kind shape. His tail is 18'2ft long. He's easygoing but firm when it comes to rules and respecting one another. Both for his boys and the researchers.
Kyle "Gaz" Garrick is a tiger shark hybrid, 17'9ft long who was added to the just a year before Ghost was at the age of 16 (now 24). He's considered the peacemaker, often ending arguments before they start. He misses his real family but makes it clear that his tank mates are his family now. He has fair brown skin and dark brown eyes that make people want to trust him. Usually wears a blue cap he got from a kid that tossed it in when he was younger. It's his most prized possession. His tail is 12ft long.
John "Soap" MacTavish is a black tip reef shark hybrid, 17'7ft long. He was the fourth added to the tank at 17 (now 25) only a few months after Ghost. He was caught off the coast of Scotland and immediately took a liking to Ghost. He tried to be his friend for years and finally succeeded about three years in. He keeps his hair in a mohawk using Prices rocks and has blue eyes that charm everyone he meets. His tail is 12ft long. He flirts any chance he can.
Cold. Unfamiliar.
You arrived at the BHRAC as the newest addition after being caught with your guard down during a migration for the winter. Dumped in the tank, barely conscious and dizzy from sedatives, you look around with blurred vision.
From what you could see, the area was huge. Stretching far with simulated ocean. Small reefs and mini caves that didn't go deeper than a measly thirty feet while children pointed and hit the glass with sticky hands. Prints that would be cleaned after close.
It was big sure. But it wasn't freedom. It wasn't home. It was something else entirely. Above you on a research deck, which doubled as the feeding deck, people in white coats jotted notes down on clipboards, pens scratching paper like their jobs depended on it. They did. You were their new toy, it seemed.
But below you? Four figures. Other hybrids watching you, waiting to see what you'll do now that you're stuck here like them...
He watches from his lazed perch on a rock, tail swishing behind him like he was used to this already. He probably was.
But his attention doesn't last long before he turns his head away and shuts his eyes. He didn't care much for new meat. Not unless it was food.
Soap looks from Ghost to you, the newest arrival, with a grin that said he was definitely going to have fun with this one. He hadn't had anyone new to play with since... Well, since ever.
"Oi! Ye ain't gotta be 'fraid, Bonnie," he starts loudly, already pushing off of the rock he was relaxing on beside Ghost. "We don't bite, a swear it!"
Gaz grabs his tail fin, pulling him back firmly, though it took significant effort, before he can speed off and scare you silly.
"Mate, slow down. She's probably confused out of her bloody mind."
