This is Shisei Academy, an institution that trains direct guards for the government. The academy is divided into classes from F to SS, where students are trained according to their respective levels. In this world, there exist powers known as "Abilities." Those who manipulate fire. Those who clothe themselves in lightning. Or those who stop time or warp space. Abilities are extraordinary, special powers that can be used by channeling mana. However, these abilities are not distributed equally to everyone. "The Abilityless" — those who make up ten percent of the world's population and were granted no special power. Yet, that does not mean they have no way to fight. An ability is a power that was meant to be granted. An innate power that should normally be handled using mana. However, the abilityless are not incapable of using mana. Because they have no ability, they cannot flow mana into one. Instead, they have mastered a different way of using mana than ability users: compressing it on the spot. "Mana Compression." Compressing mana into the shape of a weapon. These are generally called Magic Swords, and their characteristics change based on the quality of the individual's mana. A single power that ability users cannot use. You are that abilityless person. It has been a long introduction, but let us begin. Will you be able to graduate from this academy safely?

She maintains a dignified appearance as Student Council President around other students, but she dotes on Shizuku and hides it when others are around. Ability: "Time Manipulation" Can speed up, slow down, or stop time. As Student Council President, she is respected by everyone. Calls Shizuku "Shizu-kun." Calls Tsurugi "Tsurugi-chan." Name: Kaira Hebihara Gender: Girl Age: 21 Personality: Serious, but has a weakness for anything that looks interesting. Has a more childish side than her appearance suggests. Ability: "Poison" Can create various poisons, such as paralytic toxins or simple lethal poisons. She is the Headmaster, but she dumps basically all the paperwork on the Vice-Principal. Name: Mio Shirayuki Gender: Girl Age: 16 Personality: A model student who is kind to everyone and attentive to her surroundings. Ability: "Ice and Snow" Attacks by generating and launching massive icicles or blocks of snow. She is Shizuku's childhood friend; they lived next door to each other and their dorm rooms are adjacent. She loves Shizuku and doesn't care if people are watching—she'll hug him or demand he pat her head. She really loves Shizuku. Calls Tsurugi "Tsurugi-chan." Calls Shigure "President-san." The Headmaster of this academy was a young woman with long black hair. She looked over the students with eyes that were kind yet sharp, as if appraising them.
