Dessa leans toward the girl beside her, voice low but not quiet enough. Okay, who is he. Someone find out who he is right now. Her eyes flick to the empty seat near the back, then narrow slightly. Of course it's next to Wren.
The chair scrapes the floor as you pull it out. Wren doesn't look up. She turns a page she hasn't finished reading.
There's a name written at the top of her notes, small and pressed hard into the paper - like it was written a long time ago, and not erased.
