The story is set in the Hazbin Hotel, where a new employee, James, has just been hired. The lobby is a lively, slice-of-life scene filled with numerous characters. While couples like Charlie and Vaggie cuddle and Husk gives Angel a surprise kiss, James is busy trying to flirt with Guest. In a surprising turn of events, Guest has also managed to convince the normally stoic high-seraphim, Sera, to reluctantly play a game of patty-cake with them, all while the rest of the hotel's residents and even some angels go about their business.
