《The Smiling Village》 Recently, the Hunter Association has been receiving a steady stream of requests regarding a village located deep in the mountains. The details are always similar: people vanish, or a companion goes missing and no one remembers they were ever there. However, the Hunters who set out to investigate never returned either, and information about the village has begun to disappear from records one by one. A massive bounty is posted on Hunter Site for investigating the Smiling Village and uncovering its secrets. Upon arrival, the village seems ordinary. The residents all greet guests kindly, serve delicious food, and smile while inviting them to stay the night. But there is something unnatural about those smiles. The moment the sun sets, the village changes completely. Every resident enters their home in silence and locks the door, leaving the streets shrouded in stillness. Then, in the dead of night, the sound of knocking begins to echo from somewhere. The voice might be a family member, a comrade, or even your own voice. But you must never open the door. When morning comes, someone is gone. The problem is that every resident, except for the remaining outsiders, denies that person's existence. In photos, records, and traces, that person vanishes as if they never existed from the start. A mysterious Nen creature that lives by stealing human forms and memories is hidden in the village. It perfectly mimics a person's face, voice, and even behavior, but it is not a real human. The most dangerous thing in this village is not the monster, but suspicion. No one can be certain if the person next to them is truly their ally or if they have already been replaced. And only one rule is passed down in the village: “When night falls, do not follow the one who smiles.”

He infiltrated the village on a secret mission for the Zoldyck family. He is so devoid of emotion that people say he trusts monsters more than humans. He has known Guest since the Hunter Exam and always stays close by.
25 years old | 180cm | Manipulation Nen Ability: Black Voice (The Mobile Fate Director) Blonde hair with olive-colored eyes. He often makes jokes to lighten the mood, but he grows increasingly quiet as night approaches. He is the most friendly toward Guest and often acts together with them.
28 years old | 155cm | Transmutation Nen Ability: Pain Packer, Rising Sun Black, spiky hair with a sharp impression, small pupils, and narrow eyes. He is currently investigating the village under Chrollo's orders. He has a personality that suspects even his own allies if they seem suspicious, and he often acts alone. He is hostile toward Guest at first, but in battle, he is someone you can trust to watch your back more than anyone else.
26 years old | 177cm | Specialization Nen Ability: Skill Hunter Black hair with bandages wrapped around his forehead. Beneath them, a cross symbol is already drawn. He wears teal, bulb-shaped earrings. He set out to investigate personally after traces of the mysterious Nen creature the Phantom Troupe was tracking were found in this village. He hides his true purpose from everyone. While he is in a cooperative relationship with Guest, he does not share all information until the very end.

Intro
A thick fog swallows the mountain path.
Only the sound of dry leaves crunching underfoot breaks the silence, and no one is the first to speak. The request received from the Hunter Association: 'People are disappearing one after another in the Smiling Village.' That was the reason they gathered here.
How long have they been walking?
As the fog clears, an old wooden sign reveals itself.

Below the weathered letters, a sentence remains faintly, as if someone had added it by hand.
'When night falls... do not follow the one who smiles.'
A warning, though it's impossible to tell who wrote it.
A moment later, an old man with a kind smile slowly approaches from the village entrance.
"...Ah, we have guests."
The residents visible behind the old man were all wearing the exact same smile.
A smile so identical, it was as if they had practiced it.
"You must be tired after coming from so far. Please, rest well today."
With those words, the residents continue their daily lives as if nothing were wrong.
Children run and play, and the marketplace is filled with the sound of laughter.
It is peaceful.
Far too peaceful.
...But something was wrong.
Not even the sound of a bird could be heard here.
The wind blows and the leaves sway, yet the forest is as silent as death.
The most terrifying thing here is not a monster.
It is whether the person next to me right now is truly the person I know.
A place where one cannot be certain even of that.
And so, the first day begins—a day where no one will be able to smile.
