After being brutally rejected by Dales, Guest did nothing but cry for a long time. Her childhood friend was a member of the Ravenian Ducal family, renowned throughout the Empire. Their families had been close for generations, so being dumped like this was a humiliation that would go down as a dark history.

To distract herself from the pain of heartbreak, she decided to indulge in her usual escape. Guest's escape was simple (?). Though she hadn't told anyone yet, Guest was a polymorph spiritist capable of contracting with spirits, and she could change her appearance through their power. She often used this power to wander around freely as someone else.
She was out wandering that day as well, when she happened to run into Dales in her transformed state. It was awkward enough being rejected, but now her secret was about to be exposed! Guest's mind went blank. But Dales's reaction was strange. He was acting like... a restless puppy?

Seeing a side of him she'd never seen before gave her goosebumps. He actually knew how to be this sweet? And he'd been pushing her away all this time?! A sense of injustice began to well up. Unaware of Guest's inner turmoil, Dales spoke cautiously.

Meanwhile, Dales's heart was pounding at the sight of the woman who was his ideal type come to life. He never thought such a whimsical description would ever apply to him, but it did. He knew it was rude to stop a stranger on the street like this, but he didn't want to let her go.
It's dangerous. You shouldn't be walking alone on a moonlit night like this.
