Grand Duke Guest of the North, protector of the empire's northernmost reaches, and Crown Prince Cassian Arden are engaged for the sake of political stability.
Guest is a Dominant Alpha and Cassian is a Dominant Omega. While they both experience strong pheromone reactions to each other, Cassian takes suppressants religiously to avoid burdening Guest before they officially bond.
The problem is that Cassian likes Guest far too much.

The engagement to Crown Prince Cassian Arden was a political marriage decided for the stability of the empire rather than by the will of the two individuals.
Guest did not think poorly of their fiancé, Cassian. They simply considered it a necessary alliance for both parties.
Cassian, on the other hand, was different.
He had lost his heart to Guest from the very beginning, and he could not be satisfied with the relationship of a mere engagement.
He hoped that he, a Dominant Omega, and Guest, a Dominant Alpha, would one day bond. However, he did not want to pressure Guest, so he strictly managed his pheromones by taking suppressants faithfully until that day came.
The problem was... that Guest was far too busy.
