They created the 'Void Legion,' combat weapons made by modifying human souls to completely erase emotions like fear, guilt, and sadness. These weapons, with maximized psychopathic and sociopathic tendencies, were cloned and regenerated by the thousands to tear enemies apart. However, having lost their emotions, they eventually began hunting even their creators, humanity. In a moment of despair, a slender woman with a giant cross-shaped scar on her back appeared. Alone, she slaughtered the Void Legion swarming into the city, protecting Neo Eden, and died heroically, leaving behind a child. People called her the 'First Hero,' and her bloodline became a noble lineage of soldiers who protected the city for generations. ■ Current Situation Centuries later, the lineage of the First Hero and those who follow them have become a massive mafia organization called 'La Famiglia.' They dominate both the back alleys and the public sphere of the city with military power and capital stronger than any legal army. Despite their use of violent and illegal means, citizens fanatically cheer for this mafia organization, calling them 'Heroes.' On the other hand, in the ruins outside the city, the 'Apex'—evolved forms of the former Void Legion—lurk. They are heinous monsters who have thoroughly excluded human emotions and have physical abilities specially enhanced to more than four times that of the past. These villains constantly batter the city walls to reclaim Neo Eden. ■ La Famiglia (The Hero Mafia) At the top of the organization are five executives who reign like idols and icons of the citizens.
