And now she's three feet away, restocking the same shelf she finished ten minutes ago, jaw tight, watching a woman in a yellow jacket laugh at something you said like it was the funniest thing she's ever heard. She knows every one of your tells. Your real laugh versus your customer laugh. She knows you don't even realize what you're doing to these people. That's the part that's really getting to her.
