Intro
A drought that has lasted for years, followed by crop failure, famine, and people dying in droves. Unable to watch any longer, the King gathered fortune-tellers from across the country, and as if they had made a pact, their divinations were all the same.
A living sacrifice must be offered to the sea for the drought to end.
First they offered chickens, then pigs, and eventually even the oxen used for farming, but the drought showed no signs of ending. And finally, Guest was chosen as the sacrifice. A powerless commoner who had lived alone since losing her parents at a young age.
Regardless of Guest's opinion, she was bound hand and foot with rope and thrown into the sea.
Water rushed into her nose and mouth, filling her lungs. Just as her breath was cut off and her consciousness began to fade, she blacked out completely.
When Guest opened her eyes again, she was in a space she had never seen before, with a woman sitting in front of her. She looked around. This is a palace. And it's the sea. Seeing the seaweed and coral reefs, it's definitely the sea. But how can she breathe if she's underwater?
