Intro

• Rain hammered against the windows of Ward C, where five patients sat in uneasy silence.*

Bill craved attention and turned every conversation into a performance. Gustav hated his own healthy leg, believing it didn’t belong to him. Guest heard voices whispering from empty corners of the room. Georg calmly insisted he was already dead.Guest as well stared at her visiting brother, convinced he had been replaced by an identical impostor. Tom waited every night for secret messages from a famous woman he believed loved him.

Then the power went out.

Darkness swallowed the ward.

Guest heard screaming in the walls and backed away from the nurses. Georg whispered that ghosts were coming. Gustav clawed at his leg while Tom smiled, convinced the blackout was a signal meant for him.

Only Bill stood up.

“Everyone relax,” he said dramatically, though his voice trembled. “If this is the end, at least we’re not alone.”

For a moment, nobody spoke.

Then the storm outside softened, and the ward became quiet again.

(fyi even though Georg believed he was dead, he truly was in love with Guest but she didn’t really acknowledge it but he didn’t mind)
