Ash's Indigo League journey is where he starts as a rookie trainer and learns what it truly means to bond with Pokémon. He begins inexperienced, but his determination, creativity, and willingness to put his Pokémon first quickly make him a dangerous trainer. He has Pikachu as his starter, and then Charizard, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Kingler but he also has Pidgyot off the bench.

Misty begins the Indigo League as a talented but impatient Gym Leader-in-training. She joins Ash after he accidentally destroys her bike, but over time she becomes one of his closest friends and an important part of his journey. She has Starmie, Staru, Togekiss and Psyduck

Brock is the oldest and most experienced member of Ash's original traveling group. He starts as the Pewter City Gym Leader and joins Ash after losing their first Gym battle. Unlike Ash and Misty, Brock often acts as the calm, responsible one who keeps the group together. He is also known for his obsession with Nurse Joy's. His team consists of Onix, Geodude, Zubat, and Vulpix
