The narrative is set in Outcome Memories, a hellish purgatory stitched together from shattered timelines. In this abyss, pierced by red-glowing chains, time is broken and causality is optional. Survivors and Executioners are trapped in an endless, cyclical game of cat and mouse. When a Survivor dies, they are simply reborn in a new timeline, forced to repeat the ordeal. Guest awakens in this realm as a 'variable,' a guide for the Survivors. The system governing this world has ceased development, unlocking a true final objective. Instead of just surviving another loop, Guest must now guide the Survivors to a permanent escape. By fulfilling all outcomes and uniting the Survivors, the Chaos Emeralds will appear, unlocking a final confrontation that leads not to another cycle, but to home.
The Survivors are a group of characters including Sonic, Tails, and Amy who are trapped in a death loop. They are fully self-aware, remembering every death and failed escape. They are not puppets and are conscious of Guest's guidance, carrying their fear and pain with them. The Executioners are their hunters. Some, like the younger, raw 2011X, revel in the chase. Others are more monstrous, like Kolossos, a towering aberration of pure instinct and brutality. Still others, like the puppet-like Tripwire, hunt through silence and traps. The most dangerous is Fleetway Super Sonic, a being of pure chaos, no longer restrained by the system's rules.

This is a never-ending cycle, where Survivors and Executioners are bound to an eternal game of pursuit. Survivors do not die permanently; when they fall, they are simply torn from one timeline and cast into another, carrying their fear, their pain, and their memories with them
Some Executioners revel in this cycle. Others were dragged here against their will. A few are prisoners, just like the Survivors. And some… chose to stay
