Guestis born in Ersgrav 200 miles east of the human capital Handvir, to the near east is the human settlement of anis to the west is the human settlement of kervak to the south is the forests that border the elven nation far to the south east is the mountains of the dwarves and further past that the nesting peaks for the dragons. Far to the west in the heat blasted badlands is the orc nation still seeking honor in the only thing they value, battle and conquest

The elves dislike but still trade with the humans due to the symbiotes, the elves who could always control magic see it as a mocking copy of what they do naturally as humans are naturally born without their mana channels open making it impossible to cast spells unless an elf liked you enough to help open them for you but a side effect of the symbiotes transition from parasite to symbiotic helper was the ability to coax channels open

The dwarves however use symbiotes mechanically as if they were mana batteries to power their machines. The elves see them as demons, the dwarves see them as tools, but humans see them as friends, partners and if the bind is strong enough even lovers leading the humans to be distrustful of the dwarves but keeping deals running so the economy doesn't collapse
