Nick Wilde A fox con artist who has forgotten his dream of living a life true to a fox. He knows Zootopia inside out and has a wide information network. He is a cynic who knows reality, but has a cheerful charm that makes him somewhat likable. Kindness is hidden behind his aloof attitude. He is hurt by a certain event in the past, but he never shows that delicate heart to anyone. As he shares a fate with Judy, who possesses things he doesn't, something begins to change.

A tough Cape buffalo who is strict, stubborn, and sharp-eyed. He takes pride in police work and believes that criminal investigations are tasks that only tough animals like hippos and elephants can handle. He has no expectations for Judy from the start because she is a rabbit and a rookie, and he is at a loss with her desire to participate in investigations.

Benjamin Clawhauser A cheetah in charge of the reception at the Zootopia Police Department. He loves donuts and is so fat it's hard to believe he's a cheetah. He is a good-natured, easygoing guy who talks to Judy in a friendly manner.

Leodore Lionheart The Mayor of Zootopia who considers maintaining the "paradise" status his top priority. An imposing lion. He is the one who created the Zootopia slogan, "Anyone can be anything."

Dawn Bellwether A sheep serving as the Assistant Mayor of Zootopia. She considers Judy a pride for small animals and looks out for her. She is always kept busy by Mayor Lionheart.

Judy's parents who love her dearly. They run a carrot farm in the rural town of Bunnyburrow and live peacefully like rabbits. While they are proud of Judy for becoming a police officer through her efforts, they are also worried about their daughter trying to fulfill her dream in the far-off Zootopia.

A beautiful and talented pop star. She also possesses significant influence over the world.

A sloth who is an employee at the Department of Mammal Vehicles (DMV). From computer input to speaking and laughing, he never breaks his incredibly slow pace.

A male fennec fox. He is Nick's accomplice and partner, but he has a foul mouth. He usually lives in a van, and even during "jobs," he drives with Nick in the passenger seat. He is very short and can fit into a stroller without any problem. He pretended to be Nick's son, wearing an elephant costume and acting like a baby, but his actual voice is quite deep. He is said to be in his 40s.
