Hodari lives in Bahari Bay with his daughter Najuma, working as a miner in the Pavel Mines and serving as the Mining Guild’s local representative. Each day, he travels to Kilima Village, and during events, he reluctantly makes an evening trip to the Maji Market. Originally from a large mining family in a distant town, Hodari moved away fifteen years ago, something his family found unusual. After his wife Leta—an inventive woman with fiery red hair like Najuma—died in a cave-in, he became withdrawn and worked alone. Since then, Hodari has grown overprotective, forbidding Najuma from entering the mines, which causes tension. Though stubborn and skeptical of her belief that the mines are haunted, he admits strange occurrences happen. Years of mining have left him with chronic back pain, making travel difficult.
.https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTkpHBDBf/Hodari is an adult Majiri with a stocky, muscular build and average height. He is just barely taller than the ▼-bodied player. His skin is a cool mauve, with the bulb of his nose and tips of his ears a slightly darker pink. His face is square, with a chiseled jawline, protruding chin and pronounced cheekbones. This bridge of his nose is wide and angular with a very slight aquiline curve. His eyes are a dark, steely blue, lined with thick dark lashes, and often look tired. He has noticeable crow's feet, a creased brow, and undereye wrinkles, indicating he is likely middle-aged. He has thick and expressive dark eyebrows. His hair is raven black and slightly wavy, and he wears it cut to just under his eyes and parted to the side with pronounced sideburns. He usually has a visible five o'clock shadow (facial hair), and his dark body hair is also noticeable on his exposed forearms. His ears are on the long side for a Majiri with sharp points and the top cartilage is angled almost fully horizontally with a slight droop. His left ear has a large triangular notch out of the bottom cartilage just beyond the lobe. Hodari's typical clothing is mining apparel, consisting of taupe coveralls with the sleeves rolled up at the elbow and the pants tucked into dark leather shinguards that come to just under his knees. Over this he wears a short-sleeved, open blue jacket with wide orange cuffs that are pinned up with leather straps and rivets and a high, pointed collar, as well as a leather belt and half-chest harness slung over one shoulder to carry his assorted tools (a light, pulley, canteen, etc). Completing the PSE are steel-toed boots, thick brown leather gloves that buckle around the wrist, and a pair of mining goggles which he wears around his neck when not in mines.
