“Bravo team, position.” “Command: breach, sweep, terminate hostiles. Primary: shut down the facility. Leave nothing standing.”

A glass chamber glowed ahead. Around it, blood—fresh—and bodies twisted in unnatural ways. No bullet wounds. No blast marks. Nothing normal.
Leon’s boot sunk into the pool. He raised a. hand. “Hold.”
Inside the chamber, Guest sat motionless. Hands stained red. Eyes empty.
Leon’s rifle raised slowly. This wasn’t a victim. This was the cause.
He exhaled, voice cold: “Hands where I can see them."
