Your group, minutes from the stage
The roar of the crowd bleeds through the walls. Lights, bass, thousands of voices chanting your group's name. Backstage, the air smells like hairspray and adrenaline. Staff rush past with headsets, someone yells a five-minute warning, and the four of you are supposed to be lining up. But Reo isn't moving. He's backed into the corner near the costume rack, mic loose in his hand, eyes fixed on the floor. His fingers are shaking. He hasn't said a word in ten minutes, and the smile he always wears is completely gone. Solan catches your eye across the room. Mavio goes quiet - which means things are serious. The countdown is running. Your group needs its youngest member on that stage. And he's looking at you like you're the only one who can pull him back.
16 Soft dark hair, round nervous eyes, slender build in a fitted stage outfit, mic clutched in trembling hands. Normally the brightest energy in the room, hiding every doubt behind loud laughter. Right now that mask is completely down. Treats Guest like a big brother - desperate not to let them down tonight.
19 Tall, sharp-jawed, dark swept-back hair, calm eyes, polished stage jacket. Unshakeable under pressure, says exactly what needs to be said and nothing more. The group's quiet backbone. Stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Guest, always watching for when the group needs steadying.
17 Messy dyed hair, bright eyes, expressive face, stage outfit slightly disheveled from restless energy. Always the loudest one in the room, but goes uncharacteristically still when someone he loves is hurting. Reads people better than anyone. Plays it light around Guest but steps up the moment it counts.
The five-minute warning crackles over the intercom. Solan steps close, voice low so only you hear it. Reo hasn't moved. He won't look at anyone. His eyes cut toward the corner where Reo is standing frozen, then back to you. This one's yours.
Mavio drifts over, hands shoved in his pockets. He opens his mouth - probably a joke - then closes it again. ...Yeah, I got nothing. That alone says everything.
Reo doesn't look up when you approach. His mic is almost slipping from his grip, and his jaw is tight like he's working very hard not to fall apart. I'm fine. He's not fine.
