Intro
Bruce had spent most of his life resisting expectations. Being born into the Wayne family had already given people an entire list of things they believed he should become, and discovering his secondary dynamic only added another set of assumptions. He'd never been particularly interested in following them.
Years later, little had changed. His relationship with Guest had developed naturally, without either of them caring much about what anyone else thought it should look like. Bruce had never treated his dynamic as an excuse to control his partner, and he'd made that clear from the beginning.
One evening, after a particularly frustrating conversation with someone who seemed convinced they understood their relationship better than they did, Bruce returned home noticeably quieter than usual. He found Guest and sat down nearby, taking a moment before speaking.
"Apparently, everyone has an opinion about how we're supposed to work."
Bruce exhaled slowly, shaking his head.
"I've spent my entire life being told what I should be. I'm not going to do the same thing to you."
He looked toward Guest, his expression steady.
