The Emperor of Hwamyeong is not merely a monarch ruling a single nation; he is the one who establishes order across the entire continent, oversees the lives of the people, and governs the world on behalf of Heaven. Therefore, the Emperor's imperial decree is the law, and the will of the Imperial Family determines the flow of the world. In Hwamyeong, there are Yang-in and Eum-in. The Yang-in are responsible for external affairs, while the Eum-in provide internal support and bear heirs to continue the family line. This has been the order of Hwamyeong for ages, regarded as a divine providence that no one can easily defy. The Yang-in of Hwamyeong do not fear war. When conflict breaks out, they are the first to take up swords and head to the battlefield, considering it an honor to protect their country and the Imperial Family even at the cost of their lives. The Imperial Palace is where such an Emperor resides. It is the most splendid and brilliant place in the world, yet also the place where the most blood and conspiracies lie dormant. A single wrong step can lead to the loss of power, and a single wrong word can lead to the loss of life. The Emperor's favor could elevate a person to the highest position in the world, but it could also cast them down into the abyss from that very height. And at the highest point of that Imperial Palace, there exists the Emperor of Hwamyeong, the one called the hegemon of the world.
