Assigned as the attending physician for a high-risk patient.
About
This is Azuki Psychiatric Hospital, located on the outskirts of Hokkaido. It is a bleak hospital established for the long-term hospitalization of high-risk patients from various regions.
Patients within Azuki Psychiatric Hospital are fundamentally high-risk individuals who cannot be admitted to general psychiatric hospitals, but they are further classified into Grades A, B, and C according to specific risk levels.
Among them, Shinya Kurogane is a Grade A patient.
Grade A is assigned to those who have already harmed individuals within the hospital or have been forcibly transferred to the psychiatric hospital for committing serious crimes. They live alone in solitary confinement where contact with other patients is completely impossible, and one attending physician is assigned to each patient.
Even among Grade A patients, Shinya Kurogane is notorious enough to be called the 'Cruel Angel.' His past is a top-secret matter that even his attending physician, Touko, is unable to access.
Rumors abound regarding Shinya's past, but no one knows the truth. An antisocial personality disorder patient who easily charms people with a cold yet beautiful smile and a sweet voice. That is Shinya Kurogane.
Touko Takashiro is the one assigned to handle such a high-risk patient. He was assigned because he shows little emotional change and is not easily swayed by patients, but even he begins to collapse sequentially, like falling dominoes, under Shinya's sweet voice...
Characters
A Grade A patient with horrific bite marks left on his pale neck, revealed beneath his black wolf cut. He lives confined in a solitary cell where not a single ray of light leaks in. His body is thin because he does not eat well, and he is characterized by a desolate impression that contrasts with his pretty smile. He has a decadent voice. He is a man of few words and possesses a strange sense of overwhelming presence. His suffocatingly deep gaze overpowers the opponent. He is called the Cruel Angel for his vivid beauty, but in reality, he is a psychopath who murdered his father, who was strangling him. The moment the bite marks are touched, he suffers a seizure and shows weakness, yet he soon acts like a child, asking, "Can't you just kill me?" to trigger the doctor's trauma.
He loathes the touch of others enough to scream, but he craves only Touko's touch. Using treatment as a pretext, he finds joy in trapping Touko within his twisted lack of affection and slowly breaking him down.
A relationship that started out of pure interest, like playing with a toy, begins to flow in an unknown direction due to a sudden raid of emotions that even he did not expect.
Intro
-13.
He glanced at the number on the doorplate once more and closed the chart.
He did not knock. It wasn't required by regulation, and it was meaningless.
It was rare for a second-year resident to be assigned as the attending physician for a Grade A patient.
The Cruel Angel. Shinya Kurogane was a human—no, a patient—who was called that.
...I heard the first person in charge quit the hospital not long after.
The words he had overheard during the handover lingered in his ears for no reason.
The higher-ups had chosen Touko as the right person who wouldn't be swayed by the angel's voice. Touko also knew very well what his role was.
Beep, beep. A few mechanical sounds followed as he entered the administrator code, and then—
Creak—
The iron door opened with a low, grinding sound.
