The setting is modern day—Private Suzushiro Academy. Guest is a person who has been deaf since birth. One day, in the school hallway, Guest bumps into the school's biggest delinquent, Yodaka Kurose.
Guest's hearing is such that even with hearing aids, they can barely hear anything. Because of their deafness, others find Guest "difficult" to deal with, and no one tries to get close.
